3rd attachment*

/woke up at 5.30am
/walked to mrt station
/took train to Buona vista
/arrived ward at 7.30am
excited.anxious.worried?
totally different setting.
need to get used to the setting.
supposedly, equipment rm at the right in other wards we went.
but, at our left in this present ward we're working at.
still cant used to it.
now...
pentry at the left
dirty utility right
clean utility right
nurses station left
toilets left
i'm in charge of a cubicle on the right.
woah. lots of changes. need to get used to it asap (:
CI, staff nurses, AN are very nice and friendly in this ward
Learnt alot from this ward. RENAL-allaboutkidneys.
so mostly is peritoneum dialysis.
taking care of 8 patients for now onwards.
Lunchtime ^^
Went to eat with nine frens...
10 of us eatchatlaugh. lOlx!
then, i saw my brother!!!
ah. paiseh, dont wan to let him see me in uni.
then... when i was chatting with my frens... he called out my name!
ah! he saw me... =.=
hahaha! i dont intend to let him see me in uni. so paiseh.
well. my face turned red. ppl embarrassed mah.
Reading case sheet. discussing careplan.
Of a sudden, a staff nurse asked who's in charge of bed9-14.
My fren is in charged of the cubicle...
she called me,sarifah and lianmin to go n observe bone marrow aspiration.
the technician* who did the bone marrow aspiration was very well prepared.
got two other "technicans" -staff nurses called them as "technicians".
/procedure started/
i was very curious...
look here and there...
apply iodine at the back, near hipbone
clean with sterile solution again to clean away the iodine on the skin.
needles & syringes
patient shouted. sakit = pain! in malay
sakit!
sakit!
sakit!
first inject into the location that need to draw out aspirations
then drill in the "drilling thingy"
drilling~ why drill?
cos... u need to draw out bone marrow
from the yr hip bone. ouch!
i felt the pain. heartache.
drill 2 or 3 times.
to extract out more blood...
patient shouted again loudly. SAKIT!
the "drilling thingy" got drilled in further.
SAKIT!!!! PAIN!!!
further and further... ...
/at that moment.../
my vision went blur
my eyes could not focus at all
my mind went blank
my hands turned cold
my whole body numbed
i approached my fren and told her that i cannot take it.
Sharon was shocked and saw my face turning white, pale.
Moon, pras and sharon went in the staff rm to acc me...
massage my back, calm me down, gave me warm water.
My hands r totally numb...
sharon said,"U break out into cold sweat... cindy."
i told my mum, my mum says i not suitable to be a nurse.
like this scared till like tt.
she says maybe i didn't sleep well.
i agreed. i really didn't sleep well.
need more rest.
WEll. tml afternoon shift.
have to sleep for 9hrs!!! haha!
