Friday, January 26, 2007 PATIENCE!!!
all i need is just patience~ Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I have no patience de =x Feeding a patient for an example. HEy... i dun mean those patients that can feed themselves... But those dependent ones and dun open their mouth!!! Okay... here it goes. Feed easy mah!!! haha~ lOlx. Am i right to say tt feeding a person is so much easy?! NO!!!! THis is my first time feeding a patient who doesn't wan to open her mouth! argh~ Grrr... Relax... calm down. Must have patience. Feeding the first spoon... she dun wan to open her mouth! Tap tap her mouth with the spoon... and she like dun know anything. Wake her up... Ask her good anot, hungry anot, want somemore anot... Ah! only ah... ah... ah... oh? oh? oh? If ask again, might have no reply. I think she's old. senile... and cant reply bah. Poor ah ma... but due to my impatience, i abit fed-up! First time feeding her, i stuff the spoon into her mouth after i found that i have been standin by her side for mooe than 15mins with the same spoon with the food which i couldn't manage to have her mouth open!!! After having the food in her mouth... finally, she eat... she slowly swallow. All fluids~ My first feeding is feeding her milk. Chocolate milk! 240ml of milk can take me an hour ++ to feed her!!! The next day, better... Dinner can also feed for almost one hr... One hour standing and feeding... very tiring de!!! Yesterday AND today morning... standing & had my back bend to feed her... was terrible!!!! Okay... the truth is now i dun have to stand n feed her for one hr... Cos she had acupunture!!! (: Thanks god! NUH got acupunture~ ^^ She's much better! She can open her mouth more often when i just gently tap the spoon with her food on her lips... =P she's more alert. she responded more often too! Patience is the KEY! haiyo... now i know that i really dun have much patience. haha!!! Today... woke up super duper early!!! 4.30am~ Walked out of my house at 5.15am and reached the MRT station at 5.38am Then have to wait for 8 mins!!! Cos i missed the train before... if i didn't miss the train, i could be earlier!!! Haiz, 5.45 then board the train. Meaning the train earlier than yesterday... Reached Buona Vista at 6.30am! Took bus 95 in and reached NUH staff room at 6.40am! Phew~ Finally earlier than yesterday ^^ But when i go into the room, so many nurses eating breakfast and some preparing to go start work. MORNING SHIFT!!! if i live nearer to Buona Vista or maybe i live nearer to my working place, i would be more happier! But, i really have no choice. sob! One week down! Two weeks more to go and it's exams for me. Next week, monday morning shift and then got SHS. For my SHS, we have to go HPB - Health Promotion Board. And we will know which pri sch we'll be going and we have to travel there ourselves. Two days ( Tues and wed ). Then thurs and fri will be afternoon shifts. My attachment ends at 9th Feb. Well, today change diapers the most time in an hour!!! haha!!! ITE lecturer also with us in the cubicle. She came in... and i learnt lots from her. Only me, ITE lecturer and another ITE student. Three of us changing diaper for the ah ma. She's very angry that we forgot to bring draw sheet. She reprimand ITE student and... she's quite fierce. I tot she's very nice... ermm, maybe look nice but strict (: Anyway, i was shocked from the way she's angry... Nvm, dont wan to say anymore. The thing is she treat me well... she never scold me. She just tell me not to do this... & that. At least, i learnt sth from her! Gd thing, right? ^^ Staff nurse Karen and Staff Nurse Evelyn are great staff nurses!!! Staff nurse Ciliene too! SN Karen treat me good. she look fierce but she's nice =P She reminds me this and that in a very nice way. I like her attitude! NUH staff nurses are not that bad mah! (: SN Evelyn is in probation. she taught me alot of things. She's very patient too! Patient:- enduring trying circumstances with even temper or characterized by such endurance. haha!!! SN Ciliene is brother's staff nurse too. He got her when he got his attachment last year. Same time with me but different ward. ^^ Not bad not bad... i tend to get used to the ward setting and the nurses there... Somemore... today then i know one AN (assistant nurse) is pregnant. Oh gosh! Shocking... she has been working with me and now then i know she's pregnant. I think she's very brave! Difficult for her to work with a growing tummy. I admire those Staff nurses. They're my admirers. lOlx~ That's about it. Anyway, i gotta sleep. nite~ |
